Raymer Goes Green!!!

Throughout the year, students, staff, and parents have been working hard to make Raymer a more environmentally conscious collective. Well, guess what? It has resulted in a few wonderful results!

1) Our school and community are much greener.
2) Our school won the city's greenest school award and money.
3) Mrs. Affeld won an award for being one of the environmentally conscious citizens of Kelowna.

Way to go Raymer! What a school!
Remember to bring in all your clean uncapped pop bottles, juice boxes, drink boxes, spirits bottles, water bottles, and juice containers so Raymer can try to beat last year's amount.

Reduce Reuse Recycle!
First a great BIG Raymer thanks to Mr. Ed Hunt of the Rotary Club of Kelowna Capri for their club's very generous donation of $1000.00 for the Raymer Greening Fund. What a great start to the year!

Five trees were planted around Raymer in June just before the summer break. The trees look great and will provide much needed shade for the children playing at lunch and recess.

*Check out http://www.treelink.org/docs/29_reasons.phtml to see TWENTY-NINE REASONS FOR PLANTING TREES.

Q: How much oxygen does one tree produce?
A: It requires 22 trees to produce the amount of oxygen consumed by one person.
(An acre of trees produces enough oxygen for 18 people).
We always need more trees!

Stay tuned for more information on the Raymer Greening Club and for the year.

If you have any questions or suggestions please contact Ms. Zerr, Mr. Corrado or Mrs. Affeld.

Raymer Rocks!
